Rockwell wheel brakes

I have a set of 4 rockwell wheel rotors. These are the 6 lug international rotors machined to match rockwell hubs. My rockwell hubs are also machined to fit into the rotors. I also have a set of brand new loaded ford F350 calipers in box (4 piston?). I do not have the other 2 needed calipers or the caliper mounts for the axle. I finally decided to go pinion brake like everyone else. But if you are going with rocks on the street, you need these.

This is the same basic design. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=408046

All parts are NEW. Most of the wheel studs are NEW. I want to trade for your stock rockwell hubs and $600 If you buy a bolt on set of rockwell wheel brakes you are going to pay $1000+ per axle.

I also need 2 front axle drive flanges if anyone has some for sale. Trades considered. I need some 36-40" tires that will fit on 16.5 rims. or 40-44" tires on rockwell rims.

I want these. As soon as my bonus comes in in 2 weeks we can talk.

I just want to confirm that this is for:

4 machined rotors
4 machined hubs
2 rotors.

Thanks again for the pics!!!!

You mentioned that you already had the hubs and rotors machined to fit; just want to be certain.

10-4, I also have the hubs so no worries.

Thanks bud!

The hubs and rotors are machined to fit into each other. rotor faces need to be machined to fit the calipers. I waited on that in case i wanted to use a different caliper size for the rear.

OK, I don't ever remember having to machine the rotor face to make the caliper fit for F350 calipers.

Let me go do some re-learning quick like.

You saw the pics of what I have. I can give you the measurements with some dial calipers. I can also give you the caliper part #s on the box.

Yes sir I do, but I did not get any pics that show any machining. What exactly was machined? Just the taper?

You noted that these were F350 calipers, rear or front?

Thanks, that would be great.

They are front calipers. The hubs will not fit into the rotors without machining the inside of the rotor (the taper). But the hub has to be machined too so that too much steel is not taken from either part. Also the faces where the hub and rotor meet (where the wheel studs go through) have to be machined so that the wheel studs are long enough.

I have not heard of machining the faces.....everyone always just runs longer studs.

I am not sure about the 350 calipers either. I think 550 is the way to go on my rig.

Can you get me pics of the machined face and HOW much was taken off? I just want to make sure I am understanding what you are saying before I waste your time.

Install pics either?

Most pirates have been taking their studs down to a big truck store and matching them up and then asking for a longer one.

That's what I am going to do.

In the thread you posted above; they talk about it.

There is also another thread over there that has ALL of the part numbers.

Tried that. Noone could get the right size for me. The actual threaded part doesn't need to be any longer, just the part that goes through the hub. I've tried to find this unicorn, but no luck yet. I'm not saying its not out there. That's what I hear most, I saw it here or there, but I haven't seen it. But I did all this work 2 years ago.

A guy in san antonio told me about machining the faces. Worked out great. Still plenty of meat there.

I hear ya brother!

I have seen them, and I am sure it easier in Houston to find that stuff too.

How much was machined off?

I forgot now. I'll have to mic the parts and give you the current measurements.

Find some rear studs. There way longer. For the dual wheels to be mounted. I cut some mine down.
There no way a rotor mounting plate and rim can be thicker then to deuce rims.
