all cooking oils wanted.

i started to do bio-diesel.

i will provide 55 gallon drums w/ lids & will pick up for free.
any connections or leads will be great.

diesel is getting to expensive. so im gonna go the alternate route & save some money.

I've been seriously considering this. Need to hit a few local Chinese restaurants and find out what they currently do with their old cooking oil.

So did you buy the ready-to-go kit for big bucks or build your own? How much are you paying for methanol?

i have ordered b-60 from beach bio. from florida.
b60 is the model # only.
for the price its really good instead of starting a project & taking forever with gathering
the parts.

i will be getting the methonal from a race track on i-37. my wifes friend's husben runs it
& will get me a 55 gallon drum at his cost. i dont no price yet.
as soon as he tells me ill let you know.

I've been thinking about doing this as well but how many gallons of diesel can you buy at the price of starting this up? I haven't ran the numbers or priced anything yet.

The better question is:

Diesel is $4.50+ in some areas of Dallas now. After startup expenses, if you can make bio-d for $1/gal (I think it's even less), how long will it take you to recoup start up?

Save $3.50/gal
Burn 15 gal/week x 52 weeks = 780 gallons
780 x $3.50 = $2730.00

Then there's the detrimental effects of ULSD on 2006 and older engines. The B-100 will be much, much better for your engine. And you're taking away some of the sewer stoppage those chinese restaurants cause (you really think they pour it into a grease trap and pay someone to haul it away?).

What if you can produce 50 gallons per week and sell your excess for $3.50 (saving your friends $1/gal)?
35 gallons @ $2.50 net per gallon x 52 weeks = $4550

But it all hinges on a steady supply of used cooking oil at a rate of approximately 1.4 gallons of used, dirty oil for every 1 gallon of diesel produced.

Diesel here is $4.39 a gallon and I fill up about every 2-3 days at 23-25 gallons a pop. I didn't know what the start up cost or methenol price was. Sounds like it would make sense though.

I think you should be careful about talking like this. You know what happens when the Feds don't get their cut? If you do sell it, be very careful.

Old Goat made a Bio-diesel plant out of a hot water heater. They use it at his Father's resturant to run the truck on. His father sells BBQ and Fried Fish, so they are able to make a batch everytime they change the oil. They have been doing it for over a year now and get 20-25 gals a week.
