Any tranmission guys in the area? Aw4 help needed

The aw4 in the jeep that i just swapped in doesnt move at all. Research is telling me that its most likely a broken oil pump. I'll be pulling this one back out and wanted to see if i could find somebody to look at it before i go gamble on a pick n pull tranny

Change the pump...
With one of the trans cooler lines off, does trans fluid flow out ( should be quite a bit of pressure) with engine running?
If so, pump works.
Its not over/under serviced?
Did you change the torque converter, or use your old one?
Did you pull the pan on the new trans & check if filter is clogged?

Used the new converter, still got the old one though. I dont know about the service as this tranny came off of craigslist. The bad sign that i saw was that there were only 4 bolts i the pan when i got it and no gasket, so somebody had been in there. I never checked the filter, josh put the pan gasket on yesterday i'll ask if he looked at the filter when he gets off work

I know, it sucks. Doug is helping me out with the diagnosis. I think we've narrowed it down to the pump or the torque converter. I've got another torque converter here, and i could probably pull the pump off the other 21 spline aw4 and swap it if need be. Going to hook up a pressure gauge to it and see how the line pressure is, if its good then the problem has to be the converter.

just picked up another aw4 from the guy i bought the last one from. this one he says he is sure works because it came out of his one ton cj when he swapped to a v8 drivetrain. i had to pull the dana 300 off the back of it, but it was free...third time is a charm, i hope

pretty cool that a craigslist dude told me to come get another one after i told him the first one didnt work... dont find that often on CL
