Finally, after many false starts, I will be buying my truck sometime this spring. Due to a rather unpleasant experience a couple of years ago, I am looking for someone to do a ride-along with me when I go check out potential candidates. I need someone to be "The Voice of Reason", so I don't get carried away and wind up with a lemon like last time *cough*misdiagnosed rod-knock as bad lifter tap*cough*. I need someone who knows pre-80 GM fullsize trucks. Appropriate compensation ( beer ) will be supplied if you don't want to do it to help a fellow wheeler.

Jeff, basically I am looking for a clean pre-79 4x4 Blazer. My ideal is a 76-77 with a stick, no A/C, and a 4" lift, but I will also consider 73-78 with either an auto or a stick, with or without A/C. It should be clean, minimal to no rust, and run well. I would like at least a 350 V8, but will (obviously) consider 454 as well. I have a very specific list of mods I will be doing, so any of the following would only be plusses: 14Bolt FF rear/D44 8-lug or D-60 front axle, NP205 transfer case, TH400 tranny (if automatic), interior roll cage.
