My Thoughts On The New Look

what are you missing or wish you could have \ see that we had on the old board?

As i mostly lurk and hardly contribute, i know my opinion isnt worth beans, but this style is a bit harder to navigate. Its reallly easy on the eyes and has a slick look. Either way, thanks for taking the time and effort to try and make this a better board. toast

there are 3 styles to choose from. go to the very bottom left and you can change it, you can also change the styles in your profile under "options"

awright man, one more thing i thought of........

and i'm getting it from my old mustang forum i helped a guy out with a year ago when i was into drag racing. we used the vbulletin program as well.......

its a way to keep up with past featured rigs and what have ya, if you click on each one it has multiple pics and could probably put a little description in there too.....

also, what about the url links that are in the post a diferent font or color or something that they show up alittle better, the way it is now the links are hard to tell unless your lookin for them.....

i think there is also a way of putting at the bottom of the forum main page ( not the home page ) saying who all is in chat maybe? that way if someone is in there and someone else is curious they can just look and not have to actually go in just to see that no one is in there.....

there is also what we called a SilverStar members part of the forum........it was a part of the forum were only the donating members and vendors could get into and post and stuff like that. you would be surprised how many poeple donated so that they could get in on that.....

I'm getting used to it now. I like the slick new look and thanks for taking time to make this board. I enjoy using it and enjoy seeing what all the members have to tell.
As a vendor we get a lot of request for items so that is also a big help. The members do support us, so thanks to everyone for that.

Let's say I have some spare money burning a hole in my pocket. So I skim titles of new messages and I see "4.3 Chevy" as a new thread. Before, immediately left of the titles I could have found that this was in the "Wanted" forum and would not help me spend my money.

I realize this is a small picky thing, but it seems less intuitive (to me) to have to look clear across the page to determine the general subject area.

Ok, I see what you are referring too, Don't know if that can be changed but I will look into it.

Just look to the right now, tells you what forum section the post is in.

Don't mind me: I'm weird. The old was near perfect (I said that already, didn't I?). I've seldom been one who was for change merely for the sake of change. If it ain't broke...

On the other hand, if this is new software to correct some security defect in the old, well that's a web page theme of a different color now, ain't it?

Not if you pull it up as "new messages." You look waaaaay to the right for forum title.

This new look still has "new messages" and "mark all as read" and those two things are what make this brand of message board quick and easy.

Security was one of the things I looked at. In December when all of the phpbb boards were hacked, I got serious about upgrading.

the board runs faster now, there are so many things built-in with Vbulletin that had to be hunted and installed as a "hack" in phpbb. Calendar - quick reply box - Profile pictures to name three.

The Security and speed were the two biggest for me tho.
