Hey Houston, Beaumont and points east,

Just looked at the radar. Y'all are about to get pummeled in about an hour, if not sooner.

Severe storms are headed your way. Thunder, lightning, winds, heavy rain, and possible hail.

No alerts on the NWS, but this line of storms that's coming is nothing to play with.

Please be alert. This will be the only posting unless I'm still up.

... SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY...

AT 344 AM CDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 27 MILES NORTHEAST OF LIBERTY TO 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF BRENHAM... MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH.
WINDS GUSTING TO GREATER THAN 40 MPH... FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING... BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS... ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THESE STORMS.
DUE TO RECENT DROUGHT CONDITIONS... SMALL TREES AND OR MODERATE SIZED BRANCHES WILL COME DOWN WITHIN WIND GUSTS GREATER THAN 30 MPH.
AVOID TALL OUTDOOR OBJECTS THAT CAN ATTRACT LIGHTNING. IF YOU ARE OUTDOORS AND HEAR THUNDER... YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. SEEK SHELTER IN A STURDY STRUCTURE OR NON-CONVERTIBLE AUTOMOBILE UNTIL THESE STORMS HAVE PASSED.
