700/208 swap to 400/205

I bought an '88 K5 and reverse is bad.

I think I am about to swap in a good late model (32spl?) turbo 400 with a slip yoke 205.
Anybody ever done something similar? Any advise or idea of what problems I may encounter? Does anyone know if the stock drive-shafts will hook back up for now until I put my 1-tons in?

Any help is appreciated!!
