I am not a newbie by any means and I am comfidant in my off road skills... now that out of the way i have a question.

I was watching some rockcrawling events online and 99.99% of the guys are just hammering the obsticles. full throttle and as hard as possible. I know that you need to bump and dump when climing hills and big obsticles for sure but what happed to the "crawling" aspect. there is alot to be said for low gears and finess. Just wanted to hear what others have to say about this...

and i do understand the need to power over stuff SOMETIMES but just seemed that some of the professionals didnt know what easy on the skinny was. popcornn

I think a lot of it has to do with getting through the course faster.

alot of people are doing rock racing instead of rock crawling now.

that would make sense... i will admit they are awesome drivers... some of the recoveries are amazing but the rolls are amazing in a bad way.

Rock CRAWLING is still a finesse game. Cones are set up so that you can't go fast without risking penalties (cones).
