Smile alto wheeling 12-29-07... no, not mud... lots of pics

took off for alto yesterday morning and here are some pics from the little day run we had... now if i could only finish my truck and take it out instead of spotting all the time (i'm the dope in the gray shirt wearing gloves and doing the spotting) ... towed my buddys yota (roland from spring creek off road park) out there with the 250... my bronco is under the knife and being lightened up in a big way so i can keep up with the wheelers in my circle
specs on the chevota
2000 4.3 chevy engine and auto trans
two yota transfer cases with a doubler
yota axles for now but he keeps breaking stuff in em... lockers, birfields, r&p's(60's with 7.17s waiting in his yard)
36 inch iroks
bobbed rear
63" rear chev springs
tummy tucked with raised drivetrain... notice the hole in hood for air cleaner clearance
full hydraulic steering
believe it or not... none of the situations depicted in these pics required winching or strapping out :-D but the little muddy dirt hill at the end did need a winch tug to exit the trail...

the trail has been dubbed "CARNAGE CANYON" and if you look close you can see that he wasn't quite finished painting.... alto management said we could claim it and name it when we cut the trail on the halloween weekend... well it seems no one else has braved it since we first pioneered it

Jeeps are for girls
And guys that wish they were girls.....

Automatic transmissions are gay.

Flipped up tow mirrors are the sagging pants of the truck world.

starts some where near the middle of and just about 10 yards south of the tree line from the giant mudbog clearing area and heads south east from it... if you follow the tree line and poke into a few different trail openings an look to your left you should be able to see the tagged entrance.... alternately if you just walked in the woods south of the bog until you fell in a crevice you would find it

the long truggy thing was good at climbing ridiculous rock hills since the wheel base was so long ...it seemed to keep a pretty good amount of the weight on the front tires instead of almost all on the rear tires like your average rig... had the turning radius of a semi truck though (with the trailer attached lmao)... and yes... 2x4 doors... the keg was his fuel tank... and if you look close you'll see it has a 1/4 elliptical leaf spring set up... can't attest to any other wheeling ability/short comings it had since we just watched him on that one climb
