Clayton,OK nov.10-11,07
well I'm not very good at writing reports but here we go.
We had a great trip weather could not have been better. We got a pretty early start saturday morning wanted to run as many trails as possible, out of our group of 4 only 2 of us had been their before. We started with wet and wild which was dry then to jeffs ledges then black sheep. the first jeep in out group went first he made the first part easy but got hung up towards the first exit and broke a driveshaft yoke and u-joint. we got him winched out the rest of us made it up na dwe continued on to run green mamba. by this time the trails were getting pretty busy. I saw Benji and JJ at the bottom of black sheep and told them we were headed to green mamba. By the time we got their their wa sa steady strem of rigs going up. We headed up as we got near the top of the first part I realized I had no steering. at thin time I was in about 4 feet of water. my 44's were not visible. after backing up till I could somewhat see under it I realized my steering ram was just hanging from the tie rod. after some winching we got the front of mine out if the water to find that my front diff gaurd had broke in half where the ram mounts to it.

after looking at this gaurd more and talking we decide this needs to be welded on hte truck it is bet pretty bad and when it broke it broke a bolt in the diff housing and pulled the threads on another one and broke between a bolt hole that will not line back up. not to mention none of us are real confident on running this

next we head back down the mountain and end up at the exit to green mamba extension and the entrance to the bounty trail. So we run bounty trail that consumed most of the day
![]() as you can see from the sign it was one of the easier trails ![]()

we finished it with out any problems and decide to head down green mamba backwards. we get all the way back to wheir I had broke on the day before and decide to eat. As I'm pulling up out of the trail one of the guys says hey it looks like your diff gaurd is loose so no problem I get out and we start tighting the bolts and I happen to look over and their is a u-joint cap laying on the steering knuckle. I guess I must have also just broke a u-joint. So we eat and decide to limp out on rear wheel only. On the way out the jeep with us on rocks decides to run waterfall with I pull the drive flange out on the drivers side. as I am dojng that I can hear him gassing on it a big pop. He lost his rear driveshaft. he backs back down and we all head out in 2wd. it was getting dark anyway.
we had an awesome time as usual. Clayton is always a blast. Here are the rest of the pics http://www.texas4x4.org/gallery/album534?page=1

NIce pictures... We ventured into bounty trail, but it was getting dark.
I honestly do not know of anyone who has made it all the way through yet except for you and your crew.. Was it as bad as they all talk about ? I have heard that the only way to make the bounty trail was by winch. Also, there used to be an actual bounty on that trail, I do not know if anyone has ever claimed it. It can only be claimed if you did not have to winch. If your interested, the guys over on cowtownjeeps.com or org are the ones who cut it. You may want to swing by and ask if the bounty still stands ? I really like the picture that you took at the top of fence line, I have not seen the lake like that before. I will have to look into that next time. Awsome pictures !! ![]()

That extension that we run off the end of Green Mamba is not actually the bounty trail. The bounty is actually a trail that runs off the left of the extension about 3/4 the way through the extension.. We run the extension all the time but have never seen anyone do anything with the bounty trail I walked part of it the first time we ran the extension. They winched Slim up and down the hill when he was working on cutting that bounty trail in. Had a great time with yall Nick see ya next time !JJ

It may have not been the bounty trail??? I don't know. The picture of the sigh I posted was just to the left of the trail. The trail did have several trails coming off the sides of it. near the end was a trail to the left that had flag markers but no sign. It looked very tough, like you would have to winch most of it.??????

I was asking Ed The Rock Taxi and some of the others over on cowtown if it had been climbed yet, and they said that no one has climbed it yet without a winch, and that the Bounty still stands. Nolen said that he has broken 2 transfer cases on it.. The whole trail sounds Brutal.
