Hidden Falls Labor Day weekend

Our group decided to make a run to Hidden Falls this weekend. This was mine and Jason's first trip there and we had a blast aside from being surrounded by mall crawlers. I really like this park! This was the maiden voyage for Josh's Jeep. It still needs some work, but it will be a nice wheeler when he gets all the bugs worked out. Jason's truggy thing worked awesome! At the raffle I won a GPS, which my wife quickly confiscated from me after I got home.

On the trip down, my Dodge lost fifth gear about Hillsboro, so that made for a slow trip. The only real carnage was when I got crossed up dropping into a creek and proceeded to do some body work on Buster. The fender, hood, core support and inner fender are f'd. While trying to get out of a rough situation the fender crumpled and put a hole in one of the batteries, shorted a winch wire and began to ignite. Oops. After a quick trail fix, we were back tearing things up. We hit a majority of all the tough trails and I only had to be winched once. It was early on Saturday and I didn't want to risk snapping an axle on a trail fittingly named Axle Breaker. Enough rambling pics below. I have video, but will be a while before I can get it loaded.

Hopefully the guy in the new jeep in the pics sends me a copy of all the ones he has. He took a lot of good video and pics of all of us.

I don't remember you winching out of that one. I do remember the front of my buggy coming off the ground and moving sideways a few feet from pulling your heavy @$$ up it.

The only one you pulled me out off was axle breaker. All the rest I was able to do under my own power. I definitely had a great time and look forward to going back. Ok, now WHEN are we going to Clayton???

I hear Mitch wants to go back. You are guaranteed to spend some quality time on the side of the mountain if you go with him.

Hunting season starts for me in a few weeks so I'll have to plan around that. I hope to be done by mid Oct.

A group of us from CTOR made it out to HF this weekend. It was my first time out there and I was impressed with all the trails and how the place was set up. The raffle was fun, out of our group we ended up with a $100 gift card for 4WP and the set of 35" pro comp mt's. We had a great time and an a really great trip.

Carnage was limited to a broken rear driveshaft (first trail we hit) on my cj7 and a bent rear main leaf, swapped in the spare and kept on wheelin, other than that just a little bit of body work here and there.

Some pics.

Damn Ryan. That is some wicked body damage. Maybe time for a dove tailed front end?

Will, I love that jeep you got there. Those TSLs look awesome.
