Katemcy 6-12-09

I stayed all day Friday and left Saturday at noon.
Some reports were 350 rigs. Parked at the drag strip and all in the back along the trails.
There were 40' RVs coming in at 2am during the storm.

It was hot as heck during the day.
Lot's of good wheeling.

Here's my folder of pics.

WHAT A TRIP!!!! we had a blast!!!! met some more good people and wheeled alot!! camping wanst to fun friday night when the rains came... the wind bent up my awning on the rv... the hummers held us up in the morning going to the trails, they'd stop to move a rock out of the road then go 20 more feet and armor all their tires, and wipe the dust off, so as soon as could get around them there was no waiting anywhere we went. tons of people there but no waiting.

wonder what the lease price for that place is... hmmm

I went to bed about 15 minutes before this happened. They were running up and down the sand drags and this guy in a ford bronco or F150 rolled his truck, and from what I hear, he was ejected from it during the roll. There was also a girl in the front seat without her seatbelt on. She was alright and was released from the hospital the next morning. The guy driving was still in the hospital on Sunday from what I understand. I guess there were a few ambulances and they had to air flight someone out.

got this from pirate:

Hey just a note on the accident. The guy driving had a broken collar bone and rebroke his sternum. Both the other two were released Sunday bumps and bruises. They popped a bead at the end of the course tring to turn. We regret this happened but thats why there is no night wheeling. Very poor judgement on their part.

Other wise a great weekend. Some bad weather gave us a scare but did cool things off and settled the dust in the camp ground. Thanks to all that came for the last weekend it was a blast and I think everyone pushed their rig to the limit. Can't wait to see the pics. See ya on the Trail.
Randy

Man I had a blast! Thats the best wheel'n trip ever for me. Dott it was good to meet you and thanks for showing us around. We only had a few issues as far as breakage goes but in the end we're able to drive the rigs on the trailer. Austin it was nice to meet you too, wish we could have got to wheel with you some. I've never seen that much lightning in my life as I did friday night.

I'm sure going to miss that place

I had a blast out there, even though I wasn't actually drivin' a rig. I was cruisin' with a buddy, drivin' the tow rig, and playin' camera man for him. I was ridin' in the 99 Ranger with the straight front axle. Was my first K-rocks trip, and sucks that it's also my last!

I had a very fun time, wish I could have met more people but the wheeling is to hard to pass up.
Me and Austin were the first ones on the scene of the rollover at the drags, it was pretty scary to say the least when there is a truck on fire, a guy laying on the ground not moving, and 2 girls screaming in the truck. Luckily it sounds like they will all be OK but looking back on it no one should have been out there in there drunken state.
The party wagon sure was a good time though on Saturday night!!
