Megarun 2013 After...

It was a fun weekend out at Barnwell. I had heard that everything had been dozed and I could go up it all in my tow rig. Not really the case. I think that there were some things done some places, but there was still plenty of difficulty out there. We ran most of the hard trails and some were pretty challenging. Dewoody has been dug out again and it is still some work. Here is my buddy. He's one ton on 42's and pounded on it coming up Dewoody, but could not make it. He made it up pretty easy last year.

Here is a video of me warming up on Dewoody. There was a guy filming when I opened it up and bounced to the top...still looking for that video.

<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/video/embed?video_id=257397834394740" width="640" height="480" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Found this one on barnwells site of me on the rock garden:

Megarun Rock Garden - YouTube

Mine was a pokey 44 second run which (I think) was second place(two fastest guys in my class were DQ'ed I think for coming off the rocks), but Daniel did it in 40 seconds which got him a win in his class.

Daniel also ran the obstacle course in true baja ultra 4 still in that TJ for a fastest time of the weekend at 1:30. For reference he ran about 20 seconds faster than Clint on his UTV and 30 seconds faster than the second fastest full size rig which was also in our group. IT WAS EPIC! Hoping some video surfaces cause you have never seen a TJ fly and powerslide like this one did.

Two of us ran the KOH race and I think I ended up around 4-5th fastest and maybe second in my class. Steve, the #2 fastest obstacle course racer tore his TJ up a little bit on the KOH and Daniels was out after the baja race due to a burned up tensioner. I guess when a 4.0 stays at 5000RPM for a minute and 30 seconds it can happen.

Overall great weekend with no major carnage. I'll post up more stuff as I find it. There were lots of cameras out there. Rebelrider also has some, so post up.

Sounds like it was a great time! I'm looking forward to more pic. It's nice to hear there are still some tough trails and that DeWoody is getting back to normal. We are headed out there the weekend of the 22nd!

Yeah, I think that was it. The idea was to make it easy enough that more rigs would run it. Puddin(club president) said they did not have a good turn out on contestants when they picked too hard of a trail. It was hard enough when you are trying to go as fast as you can with trees only 12" from your tires.

I am thinking those trail shots above are the top of Dewoody?

I think your Ultra 4 rig would be right at home there.

Here is the run that took first in Unlimited. He was :56 I think and I was around 1:08....I think. I ran so many events the numbers run together. However, this guy also had fastest time on rock garden, but was DQ'd for coming off the course. There were some stockish jeeps that ran in the same time range.
