Memorial Day in Clayton video and pics

Well we had an awesome weekend in Clayton with perfect weather. Lots of water in the trails and running down the mountain. We ran quite a few trails, but the highlight of the trip was to finally get to run the biggest and nastiest trails that Clayton has to offer; Ate My Lunch(which it does with seconds), Plucked(and you are if you are not smart), and Redneck Millionaire(who knows?).

We had 5 in our group; ScramblerJ, TBASTM, HuckleBuggy, The Legend, and myself and we joined up with three others for a total of 8 rigs. A couple pulled out early on exits, but we got 7 through to the top and everyone out in 4 hours with no broken parts. Someone said when we crested the top of Millionaire "I feel like I just finished a physics test while being body slammed by wrestlers the whole time". It was the hardest 4 hours of wheeling I think any of us has ever done, and I will say that this group of trails lives up to its reputation. Recovery of a broken rig is impossible at some points, and you can not be afraid to winch. But, as hard as it was I am glad we made it and we will go back again. It was an awesome run!

I know everyone has pictures and video so drop them in as you can.

Sounds like you girls had a good time. I can't wait to run the back side of the mountain again. It's been way too long.

TBASTM, ScramblerJ, The Legend(1ton TJ), Foley(from pirate), and Cal(our trail leader) and I made all three. Hucklebuggy had an overheated transmission due to a....urrrhhhmmm ....shifter malfunction and pulled out early, and an early bronco that was with the other group pulled out early. Both could have made the entire thing. There is a on a rock in one pic for perception....lots of stuff this size up there. The smoke show and roll were Foley in his toy buggy. All these are from the back side and all that I got. it is so much work spotting and climbing around up there that I just did not have opporunity or even think of getting pictures. We did not hit the trail till around 4pm and getting it finished by dark was the big concern.

Yeah, the best trip for me to date! I loved it. My heart was pounding out of my chest as we waited in line to start ate my lunch. Then it was a constant test the whole way up. There was no rest or relief. It was tough line after tough line.

Freakin sweet!! It wasn't until we hit the top of ate my lunch that I cracked a
, smiled and said bring it. I'm ready for the next. Once I took off on plucked to catch up to cal and foley, that's where I hit my groove. I was all alone for about 200 yards and just kept on truckin. There ain't no time for video or pics unless you brought a dedicated camera man! Lol it requires 100% attention or you're in trouble.

It was everything I hoped it would be. My favorite part was the section just past the fallen tree at the bypass on redneck millionaire. There was a nasty little section that hung everybody and everything. It was tough!

Also, because I like talkin smack, I liked knowing that we were the only ones to run all 3 that day. All the tanks that were on the backside that day, dropped in after the bypass on redneck millionaire and ran about 10 minutes of it to the top.

Fist bump to Chris, Chad, scrambler and the big guys for doin so well. It was a true test of driver and rig. Stickies or not. Lol

I'm super content. I think you guys are too. I'll be ready to back again.

I'm glad we didn't listen to the old man on top of walk in the park!

(Remember the wink and he and his wife sayin the tree was too big and we are younger but we probably couldnt make it?)

Psh, I know I was on a 24hr mission and there was no way I was leavin without runnin it!!

One more I got from Facebook. I agree and I am glad we did not listen to them. We almost missed out.

This one is the entrance to Ate my Lunch at the very bottom. There is a huge drop right where my spotter is standing. Btw, who wears flip flops on the back side? Cody Lundene?

Lol.......that's almost 4 yrs of Clayton on those flip flops. It's kinda sentimental ya know! They have super traction in the creeks on the moss. Haha. Sweet pic. That was the best line for sure but your B hole is puckered the whole time. One little slide and you're in the 10ft hole on the left.

Good job

Excellent driving all day. If only I were wearing a red shirt and cap. Then I could take credit for being a superb spotter. Lmao

It was a good time for sure. You can hang, but I would not jump on the big three for your test run after any rebuilding. It is seriously nasty and pictures and video do not do justice. I'd make sure you run a warm up like Blacksheep first....oh, and make sure your winch is in good working order.

I wonder how much time was spent practicing to get times like that. You would have to hit everything just right.

^^^ that's what I'm sayin. I can see 15 minutes PER trail for sure. No stoppin to talk. I don't see 15 minutes for all 3...plus a down pour. Thanks for the pics dude.

I think I could run it 1 more time and run all 3 in an hour and a half. There are a lot of lines that you need to know that you forget once you get out and regroup.

Who did it in 15?

I'm callin BS on 15 minutes.
