Mt. Blanca 2010

Due to being stuck on a computer that was well past its prime, I got behind on my trip reports & pic posting.

All of which were during this last summer. Ill be updating pics as i can get them downloaded. With a little luck, may even have some vid later.

The Mt Blanca trip took place the same weekend as the k2 summer run. 3 rigs made the run up. I was the first to show up at the trail head with my son as co-pilot. We had some time to kill,so after pitching camp i took a few pics.

Mt Blanca in the background

View south of "base" camp

View to the West....almost got a shower that night

And to the East...just cause

Both Jeromy and Jeepsquared were going to be pulling in late,so i said i would watch for them so they didnt miss the turnoff. Boy did I goof. Sometime around midnight I awoke to headlights coming toward the tent & at least 6 missed calls. Jeromy was having a hard time finding his way in the dark and had to resort to calling Rockchip at home around midnight to get directions.
I think the proper response for that goof is "My Bad"

We awoke to hikers getting a early start up the mountain & one rig short. Jeepsquared got a late start & would show up in about a hour or two.

After all three rigs were accounted for & a little breakfast we got ready for the journey up the mountain.

Ill update shortly as more pics get located/downloaded.

I have a few pics of Lake Como. For some reason none of us got pics of the "Jaws" obsticals, all of which are fun and a bit spooky due to location.

Have some really cool pics from the top of the trail, but still need to size em up.

Yep,jaws two was the most spooky to me....but jaws 4 seemed the hardest due to it being rather wet.

What are the rig requirements for this trail.

I really want to run it this summer.

But I am worried about my Father in laws TJ it has a 4 inch lift 33's and is open front Stock LS rear.

By the way nice Pictures.

I have been reading and reading about this trail..Jaws 2 has had a 4x4 related death there...So it has the potential to be bad...We need to get a crew together to make this run this year (summer 2011)...

From what I read the trail is roughly 10 miles long?....How long was it time wise to get to the lakes?
