Trees Ranch Memorial Day

After successfully getting out of SA Saturday morning we had a good day of wheeling at Trees. The trails were slick and made everything harder. I saw a few rigs broke down on the trail and saw a Ramcharger get towed in. There was a Jeep out back with what looked like a broken front shaft. Our group was pretty lucky with just a quick alternator repair.

I got to meet some new friends this weekend and had a good time throwing back some cold ones (no one in our group fell down though).

Here I am getting up close and personal with some trees.

Slick!

Hell of a weekend. Started out on Thursday with great weather.
Then 4 inches of rain later it was slick as can be. Had a great time getting the rvs out. Not. Bunch of people came out on Friday and more on Sat. Carnage that I heard about broken locker, broken drive shaft, dead duster. I am sure there are more. I drove up centipede on Sunday at about 20 mph bouncing all the way up. no pics as i went to fast for the cameras.
Then I went to Hairy spotter and was sidling all over the place. poof I am on fire. park, look, oh **** I need a to put it out grab red bottle, forget to pull pin, pull pin spray, say wtf, power steering fitting loose spraying right on header. tighten it up. winch up the hill. run out of gas. (note to self put gas in on sunday morning) pulled back to bunkhouse full hydro steering sucks without a running motor.
Kenneth drove up Hairy Spotter at 20 mph no cameras either
oh I also got a flat when plug pulled out of tire on cocos corner. wait for spare and let the kids swim in the 3 foot deep swimming hole that I have never seen water in before.

We cooked burgers for everyone before the raffle. Thanks to the guys that helped out. (Kenneth,Steve, Brad, Allen, Tim and others)
The rafflle that we held will benefit the West, Texas explosion relief Fund. WE raised $1176.
Thanks for donations go to Quailty Iron works ( Arti and Bunny), River Rat and the Midnighters, 4 Wheel Parts, Napa Auto parts, Carquest Kerrville, Trees Ranch, Greg Lacoss.
AJE was in attendance. Tommy Reagan won the winch. I really don't remember who else won what as I was busy handing stuff out and calling numbers. Post up what you won.
Thanks to all of the wheelers that help us keep the park open. Looking forward to the next run.

It was a great trip and my first time to Trees. I wish it had been dry, but those full throttle assualts are fun. Bob and his crew are a group of awesome folks.

I had an air shock start leaking down. It didn't stop us, but did slow us down on the in between trails. We came close to putting the buggy on it's lid a couple times. I have to quit going out and wheeling without another rig. We met some really cool folks and some real jack assess. One in particular from Lubbock.

I didn't take a single pic or video this weekend, but I think Justin got a few of Josh and me climbing the bowls.

I won an air hose and a trail saw. The and the shine went down dang well all weekend. Trees is place that I'll definitely go back to.

As much as I hate mud and slick trails sounds like great fun and a good time. Especially when the kiddos have fun too

Is trees open year round?

No, it's only open for designated runs. I hate the mud and rain as well, but still had a good time.

Bob, Ryan, Justin and more...good meeting all you guys. My son had a great time even though we only wheeled one day. We are looking forward to the next time.

Here's some more pics.

On the way up

Getting ready for the assault

It was slick all the way from the bottom up

Finally at the top

Great pics Tim! And it was nice wheeling with y'all! Glad I had the flag flying, it gives a little perspective to how fast we were running while making our way to the top.
