Here in my part of Texas, we call that grappling.. You can do it along the banks of creeks or lakes, Under rocks, and we even used 55 gallon drums to do that in out stock tanks.. Its a pretty good rush..

In Oklahoma, they call it noodling...

always called it noodling... i tried that on a 30 pounder in a controlled environment... (read kiddie pool with an aerator)... just got me wet and fishy smelling with no fish... not too keen on trying that in a lake or creek.... they say you know it's a cat if it bites then lets go... if it doesn't let go you found something else lol
