Got her running!!!

Finally got the Olds running. Made a video of it even. Now if I can just figure out how to make them better, upload, and post them. Argh it's been a frustrating day.

We'll see how this works. Sorry if it's crappy, all new to me.

that link doesn't look right, someone get back to me and let me know it works. video's a little long winded, even though it's short. stuff does change a little at the end.

what's that taping sound? Kind of like a rocker adjusted to tight. sounds great just at idle I hear something besides the exhaust...unless you have solid lifter which would make some noise.

yeah, I was hearing that too on the tape, but couldn't hear it when the truck was actually running. I'm hoping it's the exhaust rapping off the transfer case crossmember.

I've still gotta figure out how to attach the TV cable and put in some more power steering fluid before I can see what she'll do. Have to re-wrap all the wiring and figure out how to fit the air cleaner back on there. Havn't decided yet if I want to use the 455 cleaner or my edelbrock one. Then of course I have to do some hacking to get the exhaust all hooked up.

Nice! when i get back in Lubbock, I will have to check that out in person.

Oh and a tip for finding ticking noise, since i am deafer then a wall, i like to use a long screwdriver to determine the ticking noice in motors.

you're a better man than me. I use a broom handle. fits the ear better, and keeps my pretty mug further back from exploding parts.

after playing with it on and off all day, I havn't been able to hear the knocking again. I've pretty much decided it was the exhaust bouncing between the crossmemeber and then back up against the house. you can kind of hear a tonal change in it when I stepped between the house and the camera.

I have managed to figure out that the exhaust pipes are hitting on both sides of the framerails. I think I'm just gonna take a prybar and dent them in a little until they clear. The tranny's got some serious hesitation issue. I don't know if I've managed to get all the coolers filled back up, or if I've got another issue. Of course I didn't get it out of first gear in my short trials of it either, so I don't know if something's wrong or not.

so when are you gonna be back Cody? wifey got her Pell Grant approval today, so she's headed back to school too. It's gonna suck not having any of the kids home, or the wife. I may just end up fishing a lot.
