350 or 383 or 454

Blew the 5.7L 350 in my K5 two weeks ago on the dyno in New Braunfuls. (I think I spun the bearings on the crankshaft, and theres play between the crankshaft and rods, and its has a terrible knock and Im not sure how much damage has been done) Looking for a 350/383/454 to replace it with. Preferably fuel injected but a carb would be fine. I need it to bolt up to a 700R4, or be paired with a 350 or 400.

Or does anyone know of good machine shops to rebuild/machine/balance/blueprint my motor for a halfway decent price?

Lot of collateral damage with a big block. Its heavier, prob need to upgrade your cooling system, the torque would be hell on that 700 unless youve got it built. Food for thought. 350s are a dime a dozen in SA

As for rebuild look into Ron Bell. Hes a good guy

I went bbc but its fuel hungry. Also super hot. Also real heavy. Space isnt an issue really, running manifolds. Headers didnt fit the rockcrawler needs.
But I like it. If I were to do it again it would be a similar numbered small block. I got a great deal on the motor, im sure bbc build costs would be high as hell.
