Re: 63" Chevy springs

Wanting them for the yota? May look into 57" fords or 56" chevys.. thinner leaves so you can tune them more, plus offset pin for less overhang in rear.

Yeah, finally got around to measuring them and they measure around 52". I bought some new hangers and stuff for the rear, and figured I would go with better springs while I am at it. I'll see what I can find. Just seems like all yota guys have better luck with the 63s.

If you want my imput(doubt you do) then don't run 63's. They may be long but are going to be way too stiff for your f-toy. Look at some s-10's. They are more set-up for your weight and are still plenty long at around 54". You might even have to add a leaf to them.

Re: 63" Chevy springs

The guys that like 63s also have full body rigs with more weight to them just fyi.. I know chris had 57s on there(stock set with no leafs removed) and said they didn't flex for sh*t due to not having any weight on em..

what if he runs 3 springs with the overload on the 63s ? that will soften the ride and hella flex ?

Thanks for the input guys. Yall are probably right. The springs on there measured around 52", so maybe Chris didnt lie. Maybe they are rear Chevys. Might just stick with what I have.

I had 63's on my Green 1 ton toy with no rear weight, the 63s were stiff.

My 63s on the blazer were 3 springs with the loads taken out. They flexed like crazy. Then again it weighed twice as much.

so 2 leafs with over loads or 3 without . or just run the overloads . the leafs will just bend the overload are stronger . ok try this one . no leafs and 2 overloads .

i wish i would have gone with 52s or 56s in the back of my yota. 63s might be flexy but they are way to long for a yota IMO.

That's David saying to get the 63s. Even says they're cheap.

I never said they were 63's. may want to ask around over on the Formula Toy board on Pirate. when I was building everyone told me that 63's work goof in a Yota truck but not on the F-toy. Those are chevy 52's in the rear.

That's where I misunderstood. I assumed when you said rear Chevys you meant 63s. I never even asked cause they looked nothing like the 52s on the front of my blazer. They look more like 63s, except the shortness. It was lack of communication on my part.
