Part out car 80's 4 banger fwd

Need a 80's or 90's ford tempo or escort 4 banger wrecked or not running, need the motor, trans and front drive to make a buggy motor.

I'm not knocking fords at all... I use to have a tempo and liked it... But have you considered a Saturn motor? The DOHC 4 banger (from the SL2, SC2, and SW2) is all aluminum, fairly torquey, and definitely makes more power than the Tempo motors. They are also super easy to turbo, if you decide you want a little more power later on.

Bad thing is they are not easy to convert to carb, buggy will be in the everglades and EFI will not work down there.

Why would efi not work? A carb is a primitive, mechanical version of fuel injection. I dont see where there is any possibility of efi being least desirable.

No, mechanical fuel injection, is if anything, not like a carb... Venturi effect is how fuel is delivered in a carb...

Right, i worded that incorrectly, i meant carbs are a more primitive form of fuel delivery. And im unclear about how a carb would be more effective than efi in any situation for crawling.

Not trying to be an ***, just wondering as to the logic

He mentioned Everglades, not much crawling, sounds like mud and water. Fuel injection requires a computer, mud and water don't get along well with electronics. That would be my guess on why he wants to go carbed.

Ok, I guess I should have explained a little better for some with the scobby do mental disorders.

Swamp Buggy will be in everglades florida, wet season has about 4-6 foot of water flowing through the glades and dry season is just deep mud, EFI has a ICU that if it gets wet no longer works. Carb works wet or dry and can be manually fed if fuel pump goes out. When you have to walk 15 miles back to the trailer through 4 ft of water with gators, snakes and what ever else is in the water, I'll take a carb!

Scooby stay on the rocks and dry ground much safer for ya!
