Cheap, reliable, decent car

Gonna be in the market pretty soon for a good, cheap, dependable (with A/C) car or maybe a small truck, but preferably car If it needs some small things that is fine, but no "needs tranny or engine" junk. I start a new job and gonna have to travel some so need to get better gas mileage. Not too picky on what it looks like or even what kind. If you got it throw it out there and we will see what happens. Pics are good too. Thanks

1998 Saturn SL2. Gets around 35mpg. Has a cracked head, but I have a head to put on it (am just too lazy to do it). $1000. PM me if you are interested. (I'll have to find the key!) haha.

Oh! It also needs a radiator fan, ECTS, and an O2 sensor. I already have teh fan, and the O2 sensor, just not the ECTS (its like $12). I'll put the fan on, but I currently have no way of gettin' under the car to put the O2 sensor in.

Car is about 45 miles south of San Antonio.

I would love to be in the $500-1000 dollar range. That might be pretty hard to find. It is just to drive back and forth to the job site.

Saturn has around 135,000 miles. Its a 5spd. If you are interested, I'd be willin' to meet you just north of Austin. Or (if you pay my gas both ways) I'd deliver it to your driveway. Its not a pretty car, and not one i'd plan on keeping for 20 years, but until I cracked the head, I was driving it 65 miles to work, and 65 miles home. And after the head is replaced, i'd trust it make a 1000 mile trip, EASILY.

If you want any pictures or anything, PM me.

hell, i dunno if I would do this, but the whole in the head is small enough, you might be able to just JB weld it up. The head just leaks oil. I'll work on getting you the pictures tomorrow. Interior pictures will have to wait. It's currently storage for my golf clubs and some of my old clothes. :-p

I got some 83 Yota parts (frame, body, doors, hood, fenders some 22R blocks/heads, clutch, NIB full width axle kit, NIB spring bushings, etc), pretty new Flowmaster muffler, Dana 60 low gear carrier, new stick of reciever hitch tubing (3' I think). I would rather do some horse trading and some money if that is possible.

Camera isn't working right, but my mom said I can borrow hers tomorrow. What happened with the head is the cooling fan went out, and i didn't know it because the ECTS is bad. As soon as my low oil pressure light came on (crack is on the outside of the head right at the oil gallery) I turned the car off, called a buddy, and loaded it on a trailer to take it home.

Ill Matt rock stacker
I've got an 84 Toyota Supra. Runs, drives as I have been DD'n it for the past year or so. 2.8 inline 6, 5 speed. 18-20ish mpg mixed. Tires less than a year old. $2200

I'll be straight with the issues - Has a slight stumble. Cant figure it out, but has never stalled on me or stranded me.
May need a clutch soon. Doesn't slip currently, but feels funny.
A/C is currently not working, but I will get that fixed before I sell it.

I would love to have the little Supra. My buddy had one in HS and man would that thing fly. Unfortunately it is a bit out of my price range. thanks though.

I just aquired a '91 Chevrolet Corsica that I need to get rid of. It was in the bard with my bug. Needs a new battery and idle air control sensor. I am going to clean the sensor this week though. $1000 takes it. Will get pics tonight if interested.

Just did some checking. I tried the clean the IACV but it still doesnt work 100% so I am just going to replace it. Its a 40 dollar part. It will however need a battery. Heck, I might just buy one of those too. The car is really dirty from sitting in a barn for over a year, but should clean up alright. Since it is already dark out, I will snap a couple pics tomorrow.
