There are quite a few on craigslist around Texas but they all want 1000 or more which is ridiculous!! I can't even sell my passenger drop built dodge 60 for that and junkyard ford 60s are going for 1000 ugh.............

I have even been looking hard for a balljoint ford 60 that needs a rebuild and can't find anything close and for a decent price. For the right price I would travel but they just want too much for these things. If only I could find a guy to trade!!! Good luck to you!!

I know it's off topic a bit but the super duty axles can had for much less and are stronger...just to derail the thread

Pure and simple. A Single cab 88-98 Chevy landed in my lap. The brackets I have are setup for the 32" pad width and I sold BOTH of my driver drop 78-79 d44 axles. I have time so it's really no big rush.

Going cheap and simple is kind of hard when everyOne and their mom thinks this particular axle is the holy grail.

The pad width is the only thing that's "special" about it. Honestly I'll likely just end up running a GM d60

Honestly, you're going to pay 1000 for a '79 D60. Later ford KP are 750-800, ford BJ are 600-750. GM/dodge D60 are 600-750 as well. Which is why I'm still holding on to my '79 F350, hard to come by.

Ever though about making a driver side drop out of a pass drop 60?

I know I'm looking at paying about 1000 for this particular axle. I already have one and it cost me plenty, but I can't see where guys get off asking 1500-1600 for an axle that still needs a rebuild.

I wouldn't be so dead set On this axle if it wasn't for the fact that a good buddy of mine designed and laser cut out all the spring hangers and besides the one he used on his truck mine are the only other prototypes. He hooked me up so I promised to beat the truck and really test them. They're set up for the 32" pad widths.

I know I could use a Chevy 60 and I honestly would consider it, just didn't feel like hassling with a p-drop 241, because by the time you buy a 600-800 dollar Chevy 60 then slap another 100-200 on that you may as well have just got a ford in the first place.

All of that is pretty moot considering I MIGHT be able to locate an entire truck and end up getting the axle I need for nearly nothing....but thats still a big IF and in the mean time I wanna keep my feelers out.

Anyhow, sorry for the long reply.
I was bored.
