NP208 rear case half

I need the rear case half for an NP208 with a driver side drop. The previous rebuilder used bolts that were to long to mount the rear tailshaft housing onto the rear case and it busted out the bottoms of the bolt holes into the case. I might can have the case welded up and rethreaded but I'm just checking to see if anyone has one.

I think the above post will be your best bet.

Usually when someone will sell "Part off other Parts" they want pretty much what the Complete Part is worth.

Does any of that make sense?

I sent you a pm but it doesn't show to have gone out. Is there anyway I could get you to send me just the rear case half. I don't need the front half or the tailhousing and shipping sure would be cheaper. I'll pay you the $40 plus shipping and you can just scrap the rest. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

Still needing a case half. I'd be willing to buy the whole case if it's not to expensive and someones willing to ship to Lubbock.

If the rear case is good it sounds great.

Have you hit up the local junkyards? early 80s Fords should have them. The Bronco ones are fixed yoke too.

I'd like to see if I can find just the case half first. Most junkyards want to sell you the whole enchilada. I don't know if the fixed yoke will fit on a passenger side drop case but I would almost bet it would.

Well, good luck on the search for this case half. I know the junkyards down here only charge around $100 for the whole tcase.

No, they will not. You need to use a Chevy rear half case and modify the fixed yoke tail cone to work with it. The Dodge 208 is the only fixed yoke unit (tail cone) you can intermix with the Chevy. Ford and Jeeps are NO GO's! Sorry.
