Rear 60

I need a rear Dana 60. The one I have has a chewed up spindle on one side like it had a bearing cut off witha a chisel. All I need is the housing, since my carrier, gears and axles are OK. Can be an older 16 spline, too. Thanks guys.

Anybody know a guy that knows a guy, or anything? I have $$ in hand if the price is right. Just a stock 60 rear any spline count.

I found one local. It is in a '77 Dodge van, but it is a full float 60. I PMed Bruiser the question of whether a Dodge 60 is what I want. Haven't heard back yet, but it should do OK. Thanks guys.

I don't know anything about them. I am learning the one ton stuff as I go. I'm gonna measure before I pull it. I haven't heard of different 60 widths like the 14 bolt, but I could be wrong. It's happened before.

Well, I answered my own question with a lttle research and opening my eyes and taking a closer look. The Dodge van axle is a no-go. The differential is offset to the passenger side about 5-6". When I looked it up on the Dana site by application, I noticed it listed the axle shaft lengths as about 37" on one side and 28" on the other. When I went back out there today, it was obvious when you look for it. I guess it would still work, it is a full float with 30 splines, but I went with a known comodity. I found a '76 F250, and grabbed the 60 from it.

Thanks for the offers that were made, I appreciate it. You guys rock.
