Want to Trade for or buy a 241

I think I would like a 241 in the Fj better than the 205. Anyone have a 241 behind a turbo 400 that wants to trade? Or guess I could buy it outright. I'm thinking with the t400-205 the 410 gears arn't going to be enough. I can buy gears for about $180 a set.

Well we ran into a snag anyone need a 205 with a figure 8 pattern? Bill has one and would like to have mine witch is a 6 bolt round. But I still need a pass drop 241. Bills is a driver drop.

Thanks for trying to help out Mike. Yeah mine was a driver drop. I would like to have his round pattern as I'm about to build a dubla and have a nice figure 8 with th400 adapter. It has new seals and has been ground for twin sticks. Again thanks for the help Mike.

What 205 do you have ?
Do you need a pass or driver drop 241 ? I have both.
Do you need an adapter ?
Do you have an adapter to go with the 205 ?

I have a 1987 chevy turbo 400 with a round pattern 6 bolt 205 (pass drop.)
I want a 241 pass drop with everything I need to bolt it to the t400.
Sorry for the confusin.

Now if some one had everything I needed and would trade Bill for his figure 8 pass drop 205 then he could have mine for his dublr project.

If I install 5.38 gears and leave the 205, I can get the ratio down to 26.15

If I put the 241 in and leave the 4.10 gears the ratio is going to be 27.56

So here's the thing.
The good is: If I can trade my 205 for a 241 then it's about a free deal.
The bad giving up a real strong tcase for the 241, loosing the non slip rear yoke, loosing the front dig possibility.

The good in keeping the 205 and re-gearing, keeping the stronger 205, rear non slip rear yoke and front dig .

The bad about $500.00 in gears and shipping. Plus having to install the gears.

I'm leaning twards the trade out as i don't want to spend money I don't have just sitting around.

Any comments?

Ok so what can we do . How much do you want for it or do you want to trade? Guess I could just buy it. Mitch thinks he can get it to Amarillo this weekend. That would make everything easy. Well I can't believe it. I was cleaning out a corner of the shop yesterday and guess what I found. A 241 (spare for the Jeep that I forgot I had). It was under a bunch of axles drive shafts and exhaust pipe. It has the wrong input but there not that expensive and not hard to change.
