There is a 2004 model 16' car hauler here in NE San Antonio. Asking $1200 obo. 2x 3500lb axles w/ 1 brake, no dove, never been registered, regular (not bulldog) hitch, would need new tires soon. 830-980-7970. I looked at it and decided it wasn't stout enough for me, maybe not for any "K5". Up to you. It was in the classifieds at mysanantonio.com.

Dott, you think it would be good enough for a yota? I may have to call and see what's up.

I've got a 16' trailer that will handle a K5, it has 2 6k lb. axles, brakes on one axle, bulldog hitch, 4 new 16" load range "G" tires rated at 3750 lbs/ea. Wood deck in good condition It's a 2000 model and has been used, but is in good working condition, $1500.

its supposed to be the best hitch style you can get, its sort of a two piece clamp hitch. its kind of hard to explain. I am the only person i have ever heard of these things failing on. the trailer slipped right off the ball thus ruining the bed on my chevrolet

About the only way a bulldog hitch would come off of a trailer ball, is if it was on a ball that was too small.

IMO 3500# axles are not enough for a K5. A loaded K5 with any gear will push the 6K mark and then you have to think of the weight of the trailer also.

I was worried at first but I have not had any problems. One thing to consider is that most trailers carry a 40/60 split so the tow vehicle will take some of the weight.
