WTB GM engine/trans/xfer case * FOUND *

I am a poor boy in need of an engine, auto trans, and transfer case to install in an old Toyota FJ40.

The transfer case needs to be passenger drop but other than that I am open to anything. I intend to put 3/4 or 1 ton axles under it at some point. Diesel, gas, number of cylinders doesn't matter.

If you would consider a partial swap for a new custom computer built to your spec, that would be a plus. I also have some Alpine and Rockford-Fosgate car audio to swap.

* FOUND * a nice 3.8 Buick and transmission from a local club member, still need a 21 spline input Yota transfer case, though.

does it all need to run? ive got a 350/350/203 i have no idea if it runs or not. the motor doenst looks bad just needs some clean up. the tranny needs a torque converter as its never had one and the t-case seems to work fine.
lemme know if your interested id let it go fairly cheap

Doesn't necessarily need to run but it would help.

I should add that the drivetrain I am pulling out of this FJ40 ( 3.9L I-6, Transmission, transfer case, front and rear axles) is in running order and I'm not against swapping it to someone. Its only real issue is the back brakes are shot.

The "Holy Grail" for me would be a 4.3 TBI / 700R4 / NP208 or a 6.2 / TH400 / NP208 but anything that will fit is not out of the running by far.

Know anybody that's got a reliable extended cab or crewcab truck? I'd trade my 'burban, both the 455 and 350, 700r4, olds th400, and the 208...

hell, I'll even leave the stereo system in. tools too. and some more crap if needed.

I would like to end up with something like a Dana 60 in front and maybe a 14-bolt GM in the rear. I have a set of Wagoneer Dana 44s that I was about to put under the FJ40 while I found a GM engine, etc... but it may be less work to collect everything and do one axle swap.

The downside is I won't get to 'wheel all winter going that route. If I throw the D44s in I can at least have it mobile enough to finish the cage and do a little goofing around.

Depending on whether I am capable of breaking the front Dana 44, I might put in a 14 bolt in the rear and convert the front over to 8-lug. That way I am only farting around with spring hangers, etc once.

I have a 6.2/400/208 that is still in a m1008.
I do not know the condition of the engine, but its complete & low mileage.
Im not really interested in any trades but will sell for $750.
Im on the northeast side of Dallas Tx.

Wish I could afford the whole M1008 so I'd have the axles and wiring too. Let me see if I can raise that much scratch.

Looks like I found a good drivetrain from a local club member, a Buick 3.8 with auto trans... all I need now is a 21-spline (input) Toyota transfer case. I'll post up in the "wanted" section.

Thanks
