How about a Challenge

Last year Texas Jeep owners decided that the WFTW raffle needed something made by hand, by those who enjoy he event. Last year we made bumpers. Tonight I was working on a little "COOL" type project for my shop office and started thinking about all the talent we have on the forum. We have metal fab guys, wood workers, gadet builders, just about everything...

So, how about this, Let's see what we all can come up with. Has to be quality, and donated to the raffle. If you can't make anything, let's see what you can come up with. If we start now, by October we should have some really COOL stuff for the raffle. Or, maybe we can auction it off. Just a thought. Personally, I am going to do it. Whose in?

I'm game. If anyone wants to donate 1 3/4" .120 wall tube I can build some Rock Sliders. Two sticks 24' should cover it. I have a few Ideas on making it special for WFTW.
Be part of my Team... or private donor should you wish to be anonymous.
PM your # and we can talk/meet.

Family matters have me tied up. Things are not going so well lately.
I'm out.
But to anyone I know and trust. I will loan out my bender to help build a donation.
So Sorry,

The committee have talked about it and I would say probably the end of October/first of November. We will meet in August to begin discussing details.

Any suggestions on which weekend to have it? Some of us have thrown around the idea of Oct. 30th. Halloween would be on Sunday, but we feel everyone would be back home to spend with their families.

Thought about having a Halloween theme and maybe inviting a few military family's as well. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Richard

We have tried several events on Halloween, personal and other, and none have gone well at all. I for one will not be able to attend a Halloween event. My suggestion would be to do an early October run or Early November run. you get to close to the Holidays and you get into trouble with people saving money for the big days.

There is a good group of SE Texas Drivers from various clubs and such that have expressed an interest in going this year. On the far end of Texas, it is 6.5 hour trip for us.

I have two conferences the first weeks of October, so first of November is sounding good.

I plan to talk to Jeff @ Hidden Falls on Labor Day weekend and firm up a date. Looking like 1st weekend of November. Planning a weekend run, donation meal and raffle. Maybe an auction for donated unique builds. No music, movie stars or hoop la this time. Just a good ole wheeling weekend right before hunting season begins.

That sound good. I like that idea. Would be more fun for all the guys that work too hard putting these two events together. You guys need a break

TJO is on for the Breakfast at the main event. If you need any help for this one let know. We will come up with some raffle/auction stuff. Still working on mine but when i done I will get some pics up.

So, maybe we need to broaden this to what can you collect for the raffle or auction? I will give you hint what i am working on. It involves a jeep Grill..Gotta keep it Jeep related you know.

Well I am almost done with one project. It will have it's own raffle and we will post details soon. You will not need to be present to win this. This is not a small plane. It has a 68.5" wingspan.

This will include everything you need to start flying.

Motor: ElectriFly RimFire Out-Runner Brushless

Radio: Futaba 6EXA 6-channel computer radio system with trainer system, six model memory, and 3 installed S3003 servos also includes the Futaba PA-2 Pilot Assist Link which returns airplane to level flight due to such factors as wind or overcorrection of controls, just release sticks and the PA-2 automatically returns aircraft to level flight

You will also get the RealFlight NexSTAR disc with transmitter interface, this is a flight simulator program so you can practice on your computer at home.

Well, today I got a PM from a very good friend who say he will be doing a one drawing just for this event. It will take him several weeks to complete but this is a true gift. Drawings like this are quite valuable as take a lot of time and devotion. most of you may know him.

Thanks Jimmy "Blue Angel". I hear we may have a teaser pics coming as this takes shape.

My second project is coming slow but it should be done. Who else has something they are making or can Donate? No offense, I would like to see some different stuff, and i know Jeff has more Koozies than he will ever use.
